Right before Thanksgiving last week, the 4th graders participated in a Book Tasting event. Their classroom was transformed into an Italian restaurant, and each table had a selection of books that represented a particular genre. Students spent a few minutes at each table, sampling a "taste" of each category of reading. They were able to discover new books for their 40 Book Challenge charts and get excited about different genres at the same time!

Another reason an education at CACS is so valuable is the Christ-centered activities that happen throughout our classrooms. Walk through our classrooms and you will see evidence of our faith everywhere. We can use prayer in all situations -to ask for help, to guide our choices, to give thanks, and so much more. Check out some of our students learning and growing through the faith in activities like group prayer, practicing sacraments, individual prayer, projects, and Stations of the Cross. Pray with us: Heavenly Father, Creator of all wisdom and light, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the gift of Catholic schools. You, who have entrusted to Your Church the mission of forming young minds and souls in the image of Your Son, Jesus Christ, have blessed us with these sacred spaces of learning and faith. Through them, You nurture the seeds of truth, virtue, and love in our children, guiding them toward holiness and service. In an age of rapid change, we praise You for the enduring witness of Catholic schools, which foster moral and intellectual growth, promote evangelization, and prepare young people to serve society with humility and freedom in Christ.13 2 14 As Pope John Paul II reminded us, this is a great vocation, rewarded by Your grace, for the cause of Your Gospel at the service of humanity. Through Jesus' name, Amen.

❤️ Today our 7th and 8th graders led our annual Veterans Day program honoring the brave men and women who have served our country. Their chosen essays, information, and songs reminded us all of the tremendous sacrifices made to protect our freedom and safety. We were blessed with a number of local veterans - even two Korean War veterans!

Thank you to all Veterans — today and every day — for your courage, service, and love of our country. We are forever grateful.✨

Congratulations to the Patriot's Pen winners fromn CACS! Connor, Lucas, and Caydence were presented with their awards this morning. This year, there was double the number of essays to choose from than there have been in the past, and out of 150 submissions this year, Connor's essay won first place over all!

Congratulations to all three of our winners and thank you to the whole 7th and 8th grade class for working so hard on your Patriotism Essays! And thank you to our local VFW for sponsoring this writing competition for our kids every year.

Join us for our Veteran's Day program to hear some of these wonderful essays read out loud! It starts at 10:45 on November 11.

Our 6th graders have been off to a great start this year! Our classroom has been full of hard work, determination, and teamwork. Last Friday, the students enjoyed working on a Halloween themed math escape room to end the quarter. Looking forward to a 2nd quarter full of new goals, new adventures, and continued growth!

It’s hard to believe the first quarter is almost over already! The 4th graders have been busy with a variety of new responsibilities these first nine weeks of the school year: serving at Mass, song-leading at church, doing safety patrol duty at recess, bonding with their little 3K buddies, and now learning to play band instruments. Keep up the great work, 4th graders!

The 5K is learning about systems and models in Science. What better way to learn then to create models of animals with Play-Doh. So much fun and creativity in the process.

It is pumpkin season and third grade used their skills of inquirery and scientific investigation to learn all about them. They floated them, counted ribs, counted seeds, tried roasted seeds, and even made pumpkin pie!
