Grade 3 created King Kong Towers! The task was to build a tower structure using paper, tape, glue, and imagination. Their tower had to hold King Kong and be as tall as possible in a 20 minute build time. Every group was successful!

We had a fun two days celebrating Christmas at school this week!
On Monday, we held our monthly assembly - in our Christmas jammies! - to honor kids who were showing Joy throughout the month of December. Cheif Kvalheim from the Chilton Police Department came to talk to us about what a police officer does and then we played a round of Bow Tag!
On Tuesday, we wore our favorite Christmas sweaters and many classes spent the afternoon watching a movie!

This month, 5th grade created their own Advent wreaths!
Using our hands to form the wreath, students learned about teamwork and God’s everlasting love. Each week, students read Bible passages connected to the Advent theme and reflected by responding to prompts focused on hope, peace, joy, and love. ✨🕯️

Right before Thanksgiving last week, the 4th graders participated in a Book Tasting event. Their classroom was transformed into an Italian restaurant, and each table had a selection of books that represented a particular genre. Students spent a few minutes at each table, sampling a "taste" of each category of reading. They were able to discover new books for their 40 Book Challenge charts and get excited about different genres at the same time!

Another reason an education at CACS is so valuable is the Christ-centered activities that happen throughout our classrooms. Walk through our classrooms and you will see evidence of our faith everywhere. We can use prayer in all situations -to ask for help, to guide our choices, to give thanks, and so much more. Check out some of our students learning and growing through the faith in activities like group prayer, practicing sacraments, individual prayer, projects, and Stations of the Cross.
Pray with us:
Heavenly Father,
Creator of all wisdom and light, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the gift of Catholic schools. You, who have entrusted to Your Church the mission of forming young minds and souls in the image of Your Son, Jesus Christ, have blessed us with these sacred spaces of learning and faith. Through them, You nurture the seeds of truth, virtue, and love in our children, guiding them toward holiness and service.
In an age of rapid change, we praise You for the enduring witness of Catholic schools, which foster moral and intellectual growth, promote evangelization, and prepare young people to serve society with humility and freedom in Christ.13 2 14 As Pope John Paul II reminded us, this is a great vocation, rewarded by Your grace, for the cause of Your Gospel at the service of humanity.
Through Jesus' name, Amen.
